1. Black-naped Oriole (Orio/us chinensis) - Black naped-Oriole are common and widespread in early second growth, open scrub and gardens, alone or in groups. It has a distinctive black and bright yellow plumage and its large size separates it from other species of orioles. This bird is fairly tame and noisy and can be heard from far away. Loud and pleasant pee-yaaaaooww or keeaaaooww call are repeated every few seconds often with several birds calling together.
2. Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) - The Philippine Eagle is the national bird of the Philippines. It is uncommon in forests from lowlands to over 2000m, usually in mountainous areas. It hunts from within the forest canopy from perches. It has huge body size, broad but relatively short wings, long tail, nearly all white underparts including underwin. Stamps and Official First Day Covers will be available starting October 30, 2007 at the Philatelic Service, Door 203, Liwasang Bonifacio, 1000 Manila and at all Regional Offices of the Philippine Postal Corporation.
