The state visit of U.S. President George W. Bush on October 18,2003 further cemented Philippine-U.S. relations. It came at a time when the world was on the throes of terrorism which upto now remains unyielding. But firm as the terrorists are, the U.S. and its allies (including the Philippines) are just as determined to seek out and destroy their enemies in a kind of warfare that is not conventional and which could not have an end in sight.

 

Trivias about Roque B. Ablan

Outstanding public servant and World War II hero, Roque Ablan was born on 09 August 1906 in Laoag, llocos Norte to Victor Ablan and Raymunda Blanco. He obtained his Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1929 and Bachelor of Laws degree in 1930 from the University of the Philippines. That same year, he took the bar examinations, placing 9th among the successful examinees.

In November 1906, a group of Chan-Cu immigrants in the Philippines organized the Chan-Cu Family Association. The name has been changed a number of times; today, it is registered as the CHAN-CU ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC.
